The biggest film project ever in Finland, is a 13 Million euro drama film about Marshal Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim (1867-1951).
The shooting will start as soon as the financing is complete.
The script written by Heikki Vihinen and Marko Leino will be directed by Renny Harlin and produced by Markus Selin and Jukka Helle. The leading role will be played by the 32-year-old actor Mikko Nousiainen.

The project started in the early 2000s, when the Champion of Liberty association and Solar Films decided to co-operate in the project. After that, the planned premiere was shifted several times. Also the plans to produce an international co-production with foreign actors had to be dropped.
However, Solar Films did not want to produce a low budget version, and the goal was set to 10 Million euros.

After years of hard work the production can finally be started and the film can be made without compromising the original idea.

In June 2009 Unibet Group, a stcklisted international company became main supporter for Mannerheim and solved a great part of the financing problems.
Out of the main co-operative partners the following have been confirmed so far: VR Corporate group, Sinebrychoff, Neste Oil, Fortum, Muuttopalvelu Niemi and Helsingin Sanomat .
The business co-operation is handled by Infront Finland, on behalf of Solar Films.
Other means of financing the project include e.g. the Mannerheim memorial medal, ordered by Champion of Liberty and aimed for the public.
